The FtMA project is supported by World Food Program (WFP), Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and EUCORD. The Project mainly focuses on raising productivity of maize, reducing post-harvest losses and building capacity of farmers to leverage the opportunities within the maize value chain and access to markets.
A total of 60 Cooperatives from Gakenke, Gisagara, Huye, Ngoma, Nyamagabe, Nyaruguru, Rulindo and Rwamagana Districts with a total of 32,500 maize farmers are involved in the project. The main goal of the project is to Improve the economic status of smallholder farmers through enhanced agricultural productivity, access to markets and increase in income.
